VanEck is seeking a Security Valuation Specialist to lead and manage the accurate valuation of complex securities across multiple asset classes. If this position will be performed in whole or in part in New York City, the base salary range is $150,000 - $200,000. Individual salaries may vary based on different factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with this position.

Valuation & Pricing
- Perform independent valuation of equities, fixed income, derivatives, structured products, and alternative investments.
- Develop, maintain, and validate valuation models aligned with market best practices.
- Monitor market conditions and apply appropriate valuation adjustments for liquidity, credit, and counterparty risks.
- Ensure valuations comply with IFRS, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with internal risk and external auditors during valuation reviews.
- Maintain valuation documentation and policies for internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with portfolio managers, risk management, finance, and operations teams to resolve valuation issues.
- Present valuation result and methodology to senior management and valuation committees.
- Research evolving valuation methodologies and integrate new practices where relevant.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments impacting valuation practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CPA is highly desirable.
- 7 years of experience in securities valuation within asset management, investment banking, or valuation advisory.
- Expertise in derivatives, structured finance, and alternative investments valuation.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP) and regulatory guidelines.
- Proficiency in financial modeling tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.
- Deep technical expertise in complex financial instruments.
- Strong risk and control mindset.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
