IT Systems Engineer
Our client is seeking a highly driven IT Systems Engineer to take ownership of a growing organization’s internal technology function. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in autonomous environments, enjoys solving both strategic and day-to-day technical challenges, and can bridge business operations with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a proactive mindset, strong technical judgment, and the ability to lead critical technology projects while serving as a trusted internal resource.
IT Systems Engineer Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary internal IT lead, acting as the liaison between employees, external managed IT providers, software vendors, and technology partners.
- Lead the internal coordination and execution of a large-scale ERP implementation, partnering with stakeholders to support planning, system readiness, adoption, and long-term success.
- Own cybersecurity compliance initiatives, including maintaining security controls, documentation, policies, training, and audit readiness for regulated industry requirements.
- Provide hands-on technical support for employees, including troubleshooting hardware, software, access, and Microsoft platform-related issues.
- Assess organizational technology needs and develop scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce technical friction across departments.
- Partner with leadership to establish IT priorities, technology roadmaps, and process improvements aligned with company growth.
- Support vendor management activities, including coordination with ERP consultants, managed service providers, and business application vendors.
- Maintain visibility into current business systems and workflows, helping optimize tools used across finance, project management, quoting, and operational functions.
- Assist with endpoint security, access management, user provisioning, MFA administration, and general cybersecurity best practices.
- Contribute to IT documentation, process standardization, incident response readiness, and business continuity planning.
IT Systems Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, along with 10 years of relevant IT experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently own or heavily support an internal IT function with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity compliance initiatives within regulated environments, ideally manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other controlled industries.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft business platforms, systems administration, end-user support, and hardware/software troubleshooting.
- Background in manufacturing or similarly operational environments where technology directly supports business-critical workflows.
- Experience leading or supporting ERP implementations, enterprise systems migrations, or large-scale technology initiatives; Epicor experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as CMMC, NIST, or similar compliance standards, with direct CMMC experience strongly preferred.
- Experience partnering with outsourced IT providers, implementation consultants, and third-party technology vendors.
- Relevant cybersecurity or compliance certifications (e.g., Certified CMMC Professional or Certified CMMC Assessor) are a plus.
