What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Supervisor - Adult Care position at Vanderheyden Hall Inc.?
Direct Care Supervisors the Sr. House Manager in supervising a supportive adult apartment program by supervising staff and facilitating individuals receiving services to acquire independence skills and self-esteem needed to establish and achieve personal goals. Full-time, awake position. Evening position available in Rensselaer or Day position at the Troy location.
• Develops, Maintains and utilizes a sound working knowledge of regulations of governing agency.
• Sound working knowledge of Vanderheyden policies, practices and systems.
• Knowledge of Vanderheyden mission.
• Working knowledge of management practice.
• Adheres to the DSP Code of Ethics.
• Demonstrates the ability to meet the OPWDD Core Competency standards and ability to observe and provide feedback to others on performance of OPWDD Core
· Competency standard within OPWDD programs.
• Successfully completes all required trainings.
• Maintains current with all required trainings.
• Safely transports individuals as assigned per level of supervision required.
• Provides direct support to individuals as needed and necessary.
Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:
1 year experience as a Direct Support Professional or associate's degree preferably in the Human Service field preferably with a similar population.
Pay: $22.00 an hour based on education and experience.
