The Program Manager for the Health Care programs at the Owen Graduate School of Management is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Healthcare MBA and Master of Management in Health Care Program (MMHC). The role provides administrative and operational support to recruiting, admissions, classroom delivery, and student programming. The position requires an individual that is self-directed, exercises proper judgment and discretion to ensure student satisfaction specifically when interacting with the executive students enrolled in the Master of Management in Health Care Program. The Program Manager has budgetary oversight and purchasing authority.

The Master of Management in Health Care program provides academic and student services that allow executive students to take their healthcare careers to the next level by offering robust healthcare management courses and weekend immersions taught by industry leaders and policy makers. Our collaborative team works closely with prospective and current students, faculty, alumni, and other key stakeholders with frequent evening and weekend work hours.
Please Note: This position is deemed to be flexible/hybrid, expected to work at OGSM at least 3 days a week.
Duties and Responsibilities
Health Care Programs Operations
- Serves as the primary student communicator, guiding admitted students through the onboarding process to ensure they are prepared to begin the program.
- Coordinates program logistics for classroom execution including classroom facilities, catering, custodial services, parking, etc.
- Develops and coordinates academic and classroom schedules with instructors and students.
- Oversees programming for health care initiates at Owen and resolves issues related to the execution of the program ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
- Fosters relationships with health care business leaders by organizing local conferences, meetings, luncheons, alumni events with current and former students.
- Supervises research assistants (RAs) and teaching assistants (TAs), review and approve all student timesheets.
- Hire and manage tutors for MMHC students, review and approve timesheets.
Development of Program Marketing and Recruitment
- Identifies new market opportunities for Owen Health Care programs.
- Conducts market intelligence research, surveys, and interviews health care market leaders.
- Conducts external competitive benchmarking of health care programs.
- Partners with Owen Marketing and Communications team on promotional materials, Owen website, publications, articles, press releases, and ad hoc emails for student outreach.

- Creates and executes informational sessions for Health Care programs.
- Manages student interviews, admission decisions, and onboarding of students.
Budgetary and Student Records Responsibilities
- Coordinates with Owen Finance and Administration team to develop and manage annual budget for MMHC program and Healthcare MBA programming and operations.
- Serves as Procurement Requestor and One Card holder to provide support for general purchasing in accordance with the institutional policies.
- Coordinates with the Registrar and University Student Accounts to set-up and maintain student accounts in compliance with FERPA.
- Work with Student Accounts to manage third-party billing process and invoicing for sponsored student payments each semester. Assists MMHCstudents with academic and financial records.
Supervisory Relationships:
This position may supervise part-time student workers. This position reports administratively and functionally to the Director of Health Care Programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in an academic setting preferred.
Flexibility to work in the evenings one to two days a week (5:00pm – 9:30pm) and one weekend a month during the scheduled classes is required.
