JOB SUMMARY:

The Lead Flight Coordinator supervises the daily operations of The Office of Emergency Communications, Regional Medical Communications Center and ensuring that procedures and policies are carried out in a safe, standard, and efficient manner and remains compliant within accreditation standards. Models effective decision making.

POSITION SHIFT:

Fulltime, hourly (Non-Exempt): Nightshift 7pm-7am, 40 Standard Hours

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides operational guidance to the staff, makes operational decisions as necessary and follows up on additional administrative duties.

  • Ensures that the shift is adequately staffed and proactively reviews the VECOM schedule in advance to identify and fill shift vacancies.

  • Proactively involved in departmental planning, growth, and development by participation in monthly Supervisor, Staff, and Safety meetings.

  • Recognizes and takes progression or corrective actions when needed to promote a high degree of professionalism and proficiency.

  • Provides clinical leadership for the communication specialist team and assures that patient care is facilitated in accordance with the standards and practice and protocols of the department.

DEPARTMENT / UNIT SUMMARY:

LifeFlight is a comprehensive transport service encompassing Air Medical Transport, Critical Care Ground Transport, ALS/BLS Ground Transport, Event Medicine, Emergency Communications, and Transport Coordination. The Program is comprised of more than 300 staff members holding multiple licensure levels including physician, RN, Critical Care Paramedic, Paramedic, AEMT, and non-licensed. LifeFlight is headquartered in Nashville, TN and currently operates multiple satellite locations across middle Tennessee with more than 20 ambulances, nine helicopters, and one airplane. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)

  • 3 years relevant work experience

  • Licensed Emergency Medical Technician (Required)
