What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Course Groundskeeper/Maintenance/Landscape position at Vanderbilt Legends Club?
- Operate fly mows and weed eaters.
- Uses hand tools (shovels, rakes, bush ax, swing blade, etc.).
- Rakes sand traps.
- Change cups, tee markers, etc.
- Empties trash receptacles and picks up trash.
- Cleans lunchroom, bathrooms, and shop area when scheduled.
- Operates all mowing equipment.
- Operates tractors with attachments (sweeper, broom, blower, bush hog, etc.).
- Operates front-end loader and backhoe.
- Operates all transportation vehicles.
- Aerifies greens and tees.
- Assists in the calibration of spreaders and spray equipment.
- Assists in application of fertilizer, soil amendments, and pesticides to the entire golf course.
- Applies herbicides to bunker edges.
- Applies seed.
- Performs other tasks as necessary or assigned.
- Develops basic knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures on equipment.
- Recognizes and reports the more common disease and insect problems associated with turf grass to the Golf Course Superintendents.
- Follows established safety procedures at all times.
- Cooperates at all time with fellow employees, management, and guests.
- Must be available to work every other weekend.
- Experience preferred, but not required.
