Position Summary:
The Club Accountant provides day-to-day support to the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. This position is responsible for accounts receivable, Capital and Reserve accounts payable, assisting in bank reconciliations, and maintaining the fixed asset software. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a member-focused, service-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and code vendor invoices and prepare for approval and payment.
- Post payments and charges to member accounts accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond to member billing inquiries and run monthly statements.
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Reconcile and maintain capital and reserve expenditures.
- Enter and maintain vendor and member data in the accounting system.
- Assist in maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Support the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist managers with setting up new vendors and employees in our accounting and POS systems and ensure nightly closeouts are performed correctly.
- Assist in budgeting and maintaining our fixed asset software.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical finance role.
- Previous experience in a hospitality, private club, or nonprofit environment preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Jonas Encore or similar systems is a plus).
- Proficient in Microsoft Programs
- Experience in Automated AP systems preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a member-focused environment.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment within a private country club setting.
- Regular business hours with flexibility during month-end or special events.
- May require occasional weekend or evening support during audits or budget season.
