JOB TITLE: Full-Time Parts Associate

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Vander Molen Fire Apparatus Sales & Service is a small, family-owned and operated company that sells and services emergency vehicles for fire departments and first responders throughout all of upstate New York and parts of Western VT & MA. The scope of work that we do at our Ballston Lake service shop is variable and includes all aspects of emergency vehicle inspection, maintenance, & repair. We are looking for a person who would like to become part of our Parts team, helping us keep our first responders serving their communities in safe and well-maintained vehicles.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

• Source and order parts as required for emergency vehicle maintenance and repair
• Order general supplies to keep the shop operational
• Assist with inventory management
• Utilize inventory management and digital filing software such as Dropbox and Fullbay
• Work closely with clients and colleagues to ensure efficient operations and a positive customer experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Eligibility:

· All employees must be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the United States

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certifications related to inventory, logistics, or technical fields are beneficial
• Prior experience in parts, warehouse, retail, or related roles is preferred but not required

Skills/Knowledge/Ability:

· Strong customer service and communication skills to assist internal teams and external customers in identifying and obtaining the correct parts

• Strong organizational and inventory management skills, including attention to detail and accuracy in tracking parts and materials

· Ability to read and understand part numbers, catalogs, and technical documentation, with problem-solving skills to research and source items

• Computer competency and adequate data entry skills for using inventory systems, order processing software, and standard office applications including Outlook and Dropbox

· Basic mechanical knowledge (preferred but not mandatory)

• Dependable work habits, including punctuality, ability to work full-time on-site, and willingness to follow company policies and safety guidelines
• Physical ability to lift, move, and stock parts, and to work safely in a warehouse or shop environment

Additional/Physical Requirements:

· Drug testing, background and reference checks

· Must be able to carry 50 lbs. up and/or down a flight of stairs

· Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time

· Valid Driver’s License required; DMV driving record check

· Reliable Transportation

· CDL not required but will be given preferential consideration

· Some travel may be needed to our Utica location.

Pay Range:

$20-30 Hourly depending on education, experience and/or Class B CDL with current DOT medical
