Vandenberg Irrigation, located in David City, NE is seeking an ambitious, business-minded professional to join our dealership in a full-time career as an Irrigation Operations Lead. Initial focus will be on the technical aspect of the role, dedicating time to learning the irrigation systems inside and out through structured classroom and hands-on field training. Secondary training will focus on management and leadership training with a defined path to a future leadership position. Prior irrigation experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
· Participate in structured technical training programs to gain a full understanding of center pivot irrigation systems.
· Install, diagnose, and install electrical, mechanical, and structural irrigation components using various hand tools, power tools, precision measurement devices, and heavy equipment.
· Configure advanced precision ag tools, including remote monitoring software and variable rate irrigation (VRI) using web-based platforms, cloud-based software, and mobile apps.
· Build strong relationships with customers, acting as a technical advisor on irrigation products and best practices through customer visits, trade shows, and dealer sponsored events.
· Collaborate with management to learn system design, quoting processes, and inventory management.
· Gain a full understanding of dealership operations, accounting practices, and vendor relations.
Requirements
· Ability to work in all weather conditions, especially during hot growing seasons
· Ability to work extended hours, especially during busy irrigation seasons
· Ability to lift 75 lbs. and comfortable working at elevated heights.
· Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, maturity, and workplace accountability that promotes a positive image of the dealership and brand.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to interact with customers in a respectful, clear, manner.
· Maintain strict adherence to field safety protocols regarding high-voltage systems and heavy machinery.
Core Competencies
Ag background, mechanical and/or electrical aptitude, leadership experience, technological aptitude.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
