Description

The Human Resources Coordinator (Recruitment) position serves as the primary point of contact for recruiting-related functions and acts as the HR Department's Applicant Tracking System (ATS)"super user," providing training, troubleshooting, and workflow improvements. Along with recruitment the position is also expected to be crossed trained in HR functions.
Strong HR Coordinators have great problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making abilities, as they’re regularly faced with common employee challenges and must find creative and logical solutions to resolve them.

Essential Duties

Recruitment and Selection:


  • Coordinate the recruitment and hiring process for faculty, staff, and temporary positions from job posting through onboarding.
  • Serve as the main contact for hiring managers on recruitment procedures, ensuring compliance with college policy, state regulations, and equal employment opportunity guidelines.
  • Serve as the college's ATS "super user.”
  • Develop and deliver training to hiring managers on recruitment procedures, interviewing best practices, and effective use of the ATS.
  • Review and post job vacancies, screen applications for minimum qualifications, and support hiring committees throughout the candidate evaluation process.
  • Maintain and monitor the ATS, ensuring data integrity, system efficiency, and positive user experience.
  • Maintain job posting and vacancy tracking records and ensure all interview documents and required materials are submitted by search committees and properly stored in accordance with college procedures and retention requirements.
  • Assist the Executive Director of HR with wage and salary surveys within specific markets to determine competitive rates.
  • Maintain the full-time job description database; review job descriptions with supervisors to ensure accuracy, appropriate classification, and compliance with approved formatting.
  • Assist with developing recruitment-related materials, including job advertisements, interview guides, and candidate communication templates.
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, applicant source data) to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Ensuring all documents and ratings are entered into the applicant tracking system before an offer is made.
  • Support onboarding activities for new hires in coordination with HR staff.
  • Participate in HR projects and cross-functional initiatives to support continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.
Other Duties:
  • Assist the HR team with entering, maintaining, and auditing HRIS (Datatel) data, including benefits and status changes, payroll-related actions, and activities associated with annual Benefits Open Enrollment
  • Assist the HR Executive Director in employee grievances and investigations.
  • Serve as a Title IX investigator.
  • Help in maintaining and the security of confidential personnel records, ensuring compliance with college policy, legal requirements, and confidentiality standards.
  • Support onboarding activities for new hires in coordination with HR staff.
  • Participate in HR projects and cross-functional initiatives to support continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:
  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Three years of experience in recruitment, human resources, or a related area required.
  • One year of experience with applicant tracking systems.

Education and Experience Preferred
:
  • Experience in a community college or public sector environment a plus.

Physical Demands

Physical Requirements:

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
