Job Description:

As a Science Teacher at Vance County Early College, you will play a crucial role in inspiring and educating students in the field of science. 1. Curriculum Development and Instruction:

2. Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Analyze assessment data to identify student strengths and areas for improvement, adjusting instruction accordingly.

3. Classroom Management:

  • Establish clear expectations for behavior and academic performance, ensuring a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and maintain order.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inquiry, and mutual respect among students.

4. Differentiated Instruction:

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students, including English language learners and students with special needs.

5. Professional Collaboration:

6. Laboratory Safety and Maintenance:

  • Ensure a safe and organized laboratory environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and materials, making necessary repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Supervise students during laboratory activities to ensure proper handling of equipment and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science education, biology, chemistry, physics, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in science or secondary education (required).
  • Strong content knowledge and passion for the subject matter.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of diverse learners.
