Field Mechanic Overview:
We are seeking a Journeyman Diesel Mechanic with real world experience in diesel vehicle/equipment repair competency. This position works out of an assigned service truck to accomplish maintenance and repair on fleet vehicles/equipment at our various job sites across the Midwest during the Asphalt season. Job duties require travel on short notice, mandatory overtime, working out of service truck 7-8 months out of the year while joining Kansas City Shop team in winter off-season.

- Essential Job Functions:
- Perform routine and in-depth repair on company fleet vehicles and construction equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, computer, and HVAC systems.
- Maintain heavy equipment such as loaders, rollers, brooms, Class 8 trucks, trailers, and surface pavers.
- Conduct safety and DOT inspections while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with local parts procurement while responsibly managing company issued credit card.
- Operate internal fleet management and maintenance software systems.
- Safely operate all equipment and tools while maintaining a clean and organized work area.Qualifications And Education Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Class E (MO) or Class C (KS) license required within 30 days of start date.
- CDL A will be given preference.
- Good driving record is required.
- Must own tooling to complete standard repairs/maintenance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Capable of moving and lifting 70 lbs.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Willingness to work extended hours and irregular days as needed.
