What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long Term Substitute - High School Business Teacher position at Van Meter Community School District?
Pay: $200/day
Assignment: Long Term Substitute High School Business Teacher, late January 2026 through late April, early May 2026.
Reports to: Building Principal
Requirements: Meets substitute teacher licensure requirements of the Iowa Department of Education
Performance Responsibilities:
- Follows/plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students
- Creates a climate that is conducive to learning
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of stated goals and objectives
- Demonstrates ability to enhance academic performance and support for implementation of the school district student achievement goals
- Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the substitute teaching position
- Uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning
- Collaborates with teachers regarding the teaching and learning process
- Demonstrates competence in classroom management
