Job Overview
We are seeking a Shop Hand with a valid CDL to support daily shop operations by transporting tools and materials, performing basic equipment maintenance, assisting with inventory, and helping with general facility upkeep. This role requires mechanical aptitude, safe driving ability, and the flexibility to take on a variety of hands‑on tasks.
Duties:
- Deliver tools and materials between the shop and job sites.
- Perform basic maintenance and small repairs on tools and equipment.
- Assist with tool inventory, check‑in/check‑out, and organization of the shop and yard.
- Handle incoming freight and help plan efficient delivery routes.
- Support general building and yard upkeep (cleaning, snow removal, minor tasks).
- Assist with metal fabrication tasks such as cutting, welding, and drilling when needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must meet company driving requirements; CDL preferred.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for work orders, inventory, and communication.
- Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and back trailers safely.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
