We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our warehouse and distribution team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our ammonia refrigeration system, warehouse equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. What You'll Do
As a Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the facility's ammonia refrigeration system and related equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Maintain warehouse infrastructure including docks, doors, lighting, racking, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, flooring, and building systems.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, battery chargers, and dock equipment.
- Accurately document work orders, inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance records.
- Work closely with outside contractors, vendors, and service providers when specialized support is required.
- Participate in safety training, food safety programs, emergency response drills, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support a safe and compliant workplace by following OSHA, EPA, food safety, and company safety requirements.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation and work order tracking.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school training, trade certification, HVAC/R training, industrial maintenance training, or related education.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Ammonia refrigeration certification.
- Knowledge of industrial refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, building maintenance, and warehouse equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, diagrams, and technical documentation.
No ammonia refrigeration experience? We welcome candidates with strong maintenance backgrounds who are willing to complete company-provided ammonia refrigeration training and required certifications.
Physical & Work Environment
This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, and use of tools and maintenance equipment throughout the workday. Employees work in a variety of environments including refrigerated and freezer spaces, mechanical rooms, loading docks, rooftops, and outdoor conditions. Work may involve exposure to cold temperatures, heat, noise, heights, and moving equipment.
Schedule Requirements
- Must be available to work holidays as needed.
- Must participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies when required.
