Job Goal(s):
The primary goal of the Virtual Services Program Assistant is to support students onsite while they receive services and assessments delivered from a qualified ancillary provider in a virtual format.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or the equivalent is required
Work Experience: Experience working with students with disabilities in a school environment is preferred.
Skills:
- Possess effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to implement positive and consistent behavior management skills
- Ability to maintain and follow multiple student schedules.
- Ability to escort students to the assigned location in a timely manner
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to assist in the preparation of instructional materials, as needed
- Ability to supervise students in all areas of the school environment
- Ability to accept feedback in a professional manner
- Demonstrate ethical handling of confidential information
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to utilize technology (devices, software, platforms, etc.) for students to access virtual services.
- Ability to follow Van Buren ISD, state and federal policies and procedures
- Ability to model the principles of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence
- Ability to complete assigned responsibilities within agreed upon or established timelines
- Ability to perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and duties as assigned by the Special Education Supervisor
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to travel across and between buildings
- Valid driver's license required.
Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
