Job Goals:
The Coordinator of Out-of-School Time and District Support Services provides leadership to develop sustainable systems that expand high-quality out-of-school learning opportunities and strengthen supports for students and families across Van Buren County. Through strategic partnerships, grant leadership, and district consultation, this position builds local capacity, supports continuous improvement, and advances collaborative efforts that improve student engagement, well-being, and academic success.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Public Administration, Youth Development, Social Work, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Work Experience :
- Experience working with schools, educational programming, grants, or community-based initiatives preferred.
- Experience coordinating grant-funded programs, budgeting, and compliance processes preferred.
- Knowledge of out-of-school time programming, school improvement, youth development, and continuous improvement processes preferred. Experience developing, implementing, and sustaining systems
Essential Job Functions:
Skills :
- Coordinate county-wide before-school, after-school, and summer learning programming.
- Provide leadership, consultation, and technical assistance to local districts and community organizations.
- Oversee implementation and compliance of Section 32n and other grant-funded initiatives, including budgeting, reporting, reimbursement, and fiscal accountability.
- Support districts with continuous improvement planning, including MICIP implementation and MiPHY survey coordination and data utilization.
- Build collaborative partnerships among schools, community organizations, and stakeholders to improve opportunities for students and families.
- Analyze program and student data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Effectively utilize Google Workspace and technology platforms for communication, budgeting, reporting, and project management.
- Make student-centered decisions
- Adhere to federal, state and VBISD policies and procedures
- Model VBISD guidelines: Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence
- Complete assigned responsibilities within agreed upon timelines
- Seek ongoing improvement and accept feedback in a professional way
- Perform additional tasks, responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Director or Superintendent. Valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements:
- Sit and work on a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to travel throughout Van Buren County.
- Valid Michigan driver's license.
- Ability to attend occasional evening and summer meetings and events. Lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds.
Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
