Position Overview
Van Buren County Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Patient Account Representative to support billing and revenue cycle operations.
This role works directly with patient accounts, insurance claims, and payment processing to ensure accurate billing and timely reimbursement. This position also assists patients with billing questions and payment options.
What You’ll Do
- Process and follow up on medical claims and billing
- Work with insurance companies on claim status, denials, and payments
- Post payments and maintain accurate financial records
- Assist patients with billing questions and payment arrangements
- Verify insurance coverage and update account information
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial data
- Support general Business Office functions
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous medical billing or healthcare office experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work with multiple systems and data
