Job Description: Van Atta Engineering is seeking an experienced Professional Surveyor to help with a varied array of site civil design and survey projects. Qualified candidates must exhibit a professional attitude, innovative ideas, analytical problem solving, ability to work independently as well as a willingness to collaborate with other team members. A qualified candidate is expected to be able to take a project and run with it from start to finish.

Education and Required Certifications: 

-       Bachelor Degree in Land Surveying or equivalent from an Accredited Institution.

-       Ohio Professional Surveying (PS) Certification required.

-       Active Involvement in Professional Organizations related to Surveying is a plus.

Experience and Required Skills:

-       4-10 years of experience in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering and Land Development.

-       Working knowledge of conventional, robotic and GPS survey equipment.

-       Experience in office and field tasks required by Land Surveying and Civil Engineering projects.

-       Experience with Construction Layout and standards of practice.

-       Microsoft Office experience required (Word, Excel Spreadsheets)

-       AutoCAD Civil 3D experience required.

-       Excellent written and verbal skills required.

Job Duties:

-       Coordinate a team of field and office personnel.

-       Prepare project proposals.

-       Perform Deed and plan research.

-       Prepare Required Survey documents following local municipality requirements (Record Plans, Plat of Survey documents, Legal Descriptions, and plot plans)

-       Responsible for project permitting and approvals through local agencies.

-       Coordinate and prepare ALTA Surveys.

-       Coordinate and prepare Topographic Surveys.

-       Prepare Easement Exhibits and Descriptions.

-       Perform Flood Elevation Certifications and obtain approval through FEMA as needed.
