Valure CPA is seeking a high-performing tax professional to lead advanced tax planning and continue raising the firm’s technical standards. This role is designed for someone who wants to shape outcomes by improving quality, efficiency, and decision-making rather than simply  

maintaining status quo. 

 

We will hire at Manager, Director, or Managing Director level based on experience, judgment, and leadership capability.

The opportunity  

Valure CPA is hiring one senior tax professional. Title and scope will be based on your experience and strengths: 

  • Track 1: Manager 
  • Track 2: Director 
  • Track 3: Managing Director 


What you’ll do (all levels) 

  • Lead complex planning engagements end-to-end: strategy, modeling, memos, decision support, execution roadmap 
  • Lead high-stakes client conversations and simplify complex tradeoffs 
  • Oversee delivery quality across compliance planning: reviews, deadlines, technical positions 
  • Spot planning opportunities proactively and communicate them clearly 
  • Build repeatable systems: templates, checklists, planning playbooks, training 
  • Improve operations: workflows, tech stack usage, documentation, handoffs 
  • Create clarity around priorities, deadlines, and ownership internally and with clients 
  • Develop people: coaching, feedback, raising the bar on communication and accuracy 
  • Partner with firm leadership to refine pricing, packaging, and client fit 

 

Track details (level depends on you) 

Track 1 — Manager (Hands-On Leader) 

You run planning and delivery with high independence. You’re a hands-on leader who thrives on execution, organization, and clear client communication. 

  • Lead planning and execution for a portfolio of clients 
  • Manage workflows/deadlines and keep commitments 
  • Communicate proactively with clients and teammates; surface issues early and propose solutions 
  • Review work and raise quality for your team 
  • Prepare/review complex business and individual returns 
  • Business development: optional, with upside 
  • Defined path to equity/ownership if interested 

 

Track 2 — Director (Coach Growth Focus) 

You lead planning strategy and drive results through others. 

  • Own client relationships, outcomes, and technical direction across engagements 
  • Lead complex planning strategy and advise on complex client situations 
  • Coach managers/staff; set review and documentation standards 
  • Improve quality and throughput across a client portfolio 
  • Identify planning/advisory opportunities and scope them clearly 
  • Participate in sourcing and closing, with firm support and aligned compensation 
  • Equity/ownership may be available  

 

Track 3 — Managing Director (Practice Leader) 

You focus on building systems and scale, not just completing tasks. You’re a senior leader capable of running an integral part of the firm. 

  • Set firm-wide planning standards and technical leadership 
  • Drive firm-wide quality and consistency 
  • Build leverage via process, delegation, and talent development 
  • Own outcomes: retention, margin, capacity planning, quality standards 
  • Lead leaders: manage Directors/Managers, set expectations, build cadence 
  • Shape strategy: service lines, pricing model, hiring plan, tech/process roadmap 
  • Source and close deals with material upside tied to results 
  • Equity/ownership may be available

(We coach and support you. We don’t manage your day-to-day.) 

 

Success in the first 90 days 

  • Take ownership of an initial client portfolio and own deliverables 
  • Identify the top 3 areas of improvement and implement fixes 
  • Establish a proactive client cadence (touchpoints, expectations, deadlines) 
  • Build trust through clear reviews, consistent standards, and reliable follow-through 

 

Compensation (level-based) 

Market-leading and aligned to scope. We provide a stable base salary with upside potential. 

Base salary: 

  • Manager: $100,000  
  • Director: $150,000  
  • Managing Director: $200,000  

 

Base salary varies with experience/scope; exceptional candidates may exceed these starting points. A signing bonus may be offered based on level, start date, and fit. Additional compensation includes performance bonuses and growth-based incentives. 

 

Credentials 

We value deep tax expertise and advanced planning capability above titles, focusing on judgment and execution. 

  • CPA required at all levels 

 

Location 

Our home office is located in Houma and we are actively expanding into the New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette areas. You should either be locally based or willing to relocate to one of these areas to fully engage with the team and clients. Office travel is flexible and self-managed, with in-person client meetings scheduled as needed and typically occurring once per quarter or less.
