ValueBank Texas is an independently owned community bank since 1967.


The Information Technology Manager is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks. They report to the Information Technology Committee of the bank and manage hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources. The IT Manager is expected to be on-call for emergencies or major issues 24/7.


1. Manage information technology and computer systems:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for our computer systems and network
  • Meet with Executive and IT Committees to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines
  • Hire and manage information systems personnel and contractors to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems


2. Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software. Activities include:

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system
  • Preventative maintenance of computer hardware which includes the cleaning of all equipment
  • Run utility programs which in turn will extend the life of the equipment
  • The repair of all computer hardware equipment. Repair or replace hard drives, chips, boards, floppy drives, monitors, printers, etc.
  • The movement of computer equipment between branches as required
  • Be familiar with all hardware and software
  • Be familiar with network operating system
  • Train staff about potential uses of existing technology
  • The training and support on specific and application software such as Word, Windows, Excel and Printshop
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources


3. Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access:

  • Ensure the timely resolution of requests received through the helpdesk ticketing system
  • Assign tickets in queue to appropriate team member processing first-in first-out based on priority
  • Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software
  • Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software
  • Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
  • Set up email on mobile devices, iPhones, iPads, etc. for designated end-users
  • Move computers as needed
  • Respond to all printer issues. Receive help from other department personnel when the problem relates to a print queue on the print server
  • Build and maintain a pool of spare computers and equipment


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field
  • 5 years of relevant technical experience
  • 2 years of IT management experience
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, at least 2 years of driving experience and insurable
  • Management and supervisory skills
  • Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks
  • Effective verbal, presentation and listening communications skill
  • Able to effectively monitor indicators of performance as determined by the IT Steering Committee
  • Able to coordinate multiple vendors, departments, and employees toward a common goal
  • Able to propose and manage meaningful projects
