Role: Database Architect
Location: Hybrid – Okemos, MI
Work Authorization: USC or GC Holders Only
The hiring manager is specifically looking for candidates who are exceptionally strong on the infrastructure side of database architecture. A strong Database Architect should understand not only database design and migrations, but also physical architecture including public cloud, virtualization, bare metal infrastructure, networking considerations, high availability, and overall enterprise database ecosystem design.
Job Summary:
Leads, designs, and delivers recommendations of all database technologies and best practices that maximize performance, availability, and maintainability across the organization’s database environments.
Required Experience:
✔ 7 years as a Database Administrator
✔ Strong expertise in at least 3 of the following:
- Oracle
- Microsoft SQL Server
- PostgreSQL
- MariaDB
- MySQL
- Snowflake
- MongoDB
Key Skills:
✔ Database architecture & infrastructure design
✔ Cloud database technologies
✔ High availability & backup/recovery solutions
✔ ETL/ELT familiarity
✔ Windows Server / Unix environments
✔ Performance tuning & troubleshooting
✔ Automation for routine database maintenance
✔ Ability to mentor teams and drive best practices
