Role Description
We’re looking for a service-oriented Leasing Consultant to join our high-performing team, primarily based in Denville, NJ, with regular support at our Randolph, NJ community.
This is a dynamic, multi-site role, with approximately 3–4 days per week based in Denville and 1–2 days per week supporting the Randolph community, or assisting the Randolph team from the Denville office as needed.
In this fast-paced, multi-person leasing environment, you'll collaborate daily with property management, maintenance, and fellow leasing professionals to deliver an exceptional living experience to hundreds of residents.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and skilled in navigating complex situations, including resident concerns and service issues. Strong problem-solving abilities, conflict resolution skills, and a commitment to customer service excellence are essential for success in this role.
Experience with Yardi CRM (or similar), Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Spanish language skills are a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Leasing & Sales
- Greet and assist prospective residents in person, over the phone, and online
- Conduct engaging and informative property tours tailored to the prospect’s needs
- Convert leads to leases by highlighting property features and benefits
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of floor plans, pricing, lease terms, and current availability
- Follow up consistently with prospects and applicants to maximize leasing potential
Application & Lease Management
- Guide applicants through the entire leasing process from inquiry to move-in
- Process applications, income verifications, credit/background checks, and lease agreements
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with Fair Housing laws and company policies
Resident Relations & Retention
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident questions, concerns, and requests
- Assist with lease renewals, transfers, and move-in/move-out processes
- Help plan and support resident events to build a strong sense of community
Marketing & Outreach
- Assist in outreach and networking activities to build referral traffic
Administrative & Reporting
- Use Yardi CRM to track leads, manage leasing data, and generate reports
- Prepare correspondence and reports using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Maintain organized files and ensure leasing office and model units are always presentable
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in leasing, property management, real estate sales, or a related field
- Experience with Yardi CRM (or similar) is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Real Estate license, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Ability to work across both Denville and Randolph, NJ locations as needed
- Availability to work Saturdays as part of the regular schedule
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
