Description
Position Overview
The Material Handler is responsible for efficiently supplying materials, tools, and information to production workstations as needed, ensuring continuous workflow and minimal interruptions. This role plays a key part in Lean Manufacturing by supporting operators and reducing non-value-adding activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver parts, materials, tools, and supplies to workstations in a timely, organized manner.
- Monitor inventory levels at workstations and replenish as needed.
- Remove completed work, waste, and empty containers from the production floor.
- Coordinate with material handlers and warehouse teams for restocking.
- Keep records of material movements and identify areas for process improvement.
- Assist in implementing 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as a communication link between production and support departments.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move freely around the facility.
- Ability to climb stairs.
- Frequent lifting up to 50lbs.
