What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler - Shipping*Receiving position at Valtir LLC?
Valtir is searching for Shipper / Receiver team members in our Orangeburg, SC plant. As a Highway Guardrail Manufacturer team member, you will perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, assembling, and moving materials.
Monday-Friday 7 : 00AM-3 : 30PM and overtime as needed on Saturday.
What you'll do :
Understand proper stacking and packing process
Monitor and identify errors or defects in complex products
Operate forklift
Load trucks, move inventory, package material for outbound shipments
Perform cycle counts on inventory
Build and assemble hardware for shipments
Follow all safety rules and practices
Perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment
Work in a manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled.
The job is a fast paced, heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the plant.
Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing and steel-toed shoes.
Attendance and showing up to work on time are important to the success of the plant. Dependable job attendance is expected.
What you'll need :
Steady work history- minimum of 1 year experience
Ability to understand technical aspects of the job
Ability to follow verbal, written instructions and procedures
Ability to perform all essential functions safely and efficiently
Ability to function as a team member and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
