Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Technician function includes both mechanical and basic electrical support for troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing our highly automated production equipment. We're looking for a reliable, experienced Maintenance Technician who knows how to turn a wrench and safely handle 480V electrical panels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates and applies knowledge of mechanical, basic electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and control systems.
- Minimizes machine downtime by troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and basic electrical issues using technical manuals, schematics, vendor assistance and training.
- React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected parties and work efficiently to fix the issue.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site.
- Completes required training as needed and certification for the maintenance area in accordance with the maintenance progression process.
- Must be able to learn and work within the maintenance work order system (SAP), by generating work orders, viewing status of work orders and closing work orders upon completion.
- Support and learn from Advanced Industrial Maintenance Technicians.
- Understand and adhere to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, confined space procedures and all other plant safety good manufacturing practices.
- Perform related work and additional duties as needed or required.
Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Vocational training, certification, and/or minimum of five years related industrial experience in basic mechanics and electrical skill areas
- Basic understanding of electrical systems: PLC's (programmable logic controllers), HMI's (human machine interfaces) and/or drives required.
- Experience interpreting drawings, diagrams and schematics.
- Previous experience in print, packaging, food/beverage, or manufacturing preferred.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
- Basic analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical).
- Team player with good communication skills (verbal, written).
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with leads, peers, co-workers, and vendors
- Ability to use power tools and machine shop equipment.
- Occasionally lift and/or manually move up to 50lbs
- Occasionally required to work at heights up to 30 feet above ground on a ladder, in a scissors lift or in a boom lift.
- Occasionally required to work in smaller or confined areas for extended periods.
- Knowledge of and general application skills in the Windows Office environment.
- Working knowledge in SAP environment.
- Must supply own hand tools, standard and metric with the exception of specialty tools.
