The Patient Transportation Driver is responsible and accountable for transporting our senior patients to and from appointments to allow for the highest quality of care. This position will also assist assigned clinics with other transport needs.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Establishes and maintains communication with patients and coworkers to improve quality of service and customer satisfaction.
- Transports patients inside and outside of the facility to designated areas in a punctual and timely manner.
- Assist patients in/out of home/office/vehicle.
- Offers comfort and support to patients and their families.
- Transports medical equipment, supplies, and prescriptions to designated patient's home and/or office.
- Respect and protect patient confidentiality by keeping all sensitive and patient information private.
- Follows all protocols and procedures to ensure safe delivery of patients and medical equipment and supplies.
- Maintains a secure, clean, and healthy work environment by adhering to the standards and regulations that are set forth by Valora and local, state, and federal governments,
- Routinely complies with the standards set forth by HIPAA.
- Regularly participates in ongoing education to improve knowledge and skills.
- Additional transportation duties as assigned by management.
Patient Transporter Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
- 2 years of driving patients or persons to appointments or other meetings
- 2 years experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Successful completion and satisfaction of a motor vehicle report
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Exceptional customer service skills with a high focus on positive patient satisfaction outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills
- Must demonstrate patience and empathy towards patients
- Impeccable organization and time management skills
