- Monday - Thursday, 10:00am - 8:00pm, Saturday, 8:00am - 12:00pm (2 1/2 Days Off!)
Job Summary:
As a Medical Receptionist, or Front Desk Receptionist, you'll play a crucial role in creating a positive experience for our patients in a healthcare setting. Your responsibilities will include interacting with patients, managing administrative tasks, and providing essential support to our medical team. You'll schedule patient appointments, assist with inquiries, explain intake forms to new patients, and process payments after treatment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist patients, schedule appointments, and maintain records and accounts.
- Manage incoming phone calls and provide information to callers.
- Register patients following established protocols.
- Assist patients in completing necessary forms and documentation, including medical insurance.
- Ensure the accuracy of patient information, including billing details.
- Inform patients about medical office procedures and policies.
- Maintain and manage patient records.
- Ensure patients move through appointments as scheduled.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Collect co-pays and payments.
- Report statistics as required.
- Respond to and fulfill requests for information.
- Complete other clerical duties as assigned.
- Keep stock of forms and office supplies.
- Maintain a well-organized and clean reception area.
- Assist with coverage at other clinics when needed due to being short-staffed. Mileage reimbursement will apply when covering at other clinic locations
- Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
- Any additional duties assigned by management to support the clinic
Education/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2 years of experience in a medical-specific role or the healthcare industry.
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of medical and billing terminology is strongly recommended.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
- Innovative, motivated, organized, and a team player.
- Ability to travel to other clinics when needed for coverage
- Ability to establish working relationships, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and apply basic staff etiquette when dealing with others.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Possess a keen attention to detail.
- Adapt quickly to change and learn new procedures.
- Must be flexible with the ability to work on weekends when necessary (dependent on clinic location).
