Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Metro Atlanta Residency Required/Hybrid

Executive Leadership Role

Full-Time | $130,000 – $180,000 Performance Incentives

Reports To: Owner & Chief Executive Safety Officer (CESO)

Position Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) serves as the senior executive responsible for operational excellence across Valor Protection Safety Agency. As a rapidly expanding public safety organization with over 100 personnel, the COO provides strategic direction, organizational leadership, and operational oversight to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across all accounts and divisions.

The COO establishes the systems, processes, accountability structures, and leadership standards required to support the company’s growth trajectory and uphold its core values of Excellence, Integrity, Professionalism, Education, and Accountability.

Executive Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Organizational Infrastructure

• Provide executive oversight of agency operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and growth priorities.
• Build and refine scalable operational systems, processes, and frameworks capable of supporting multi-site expansion and increasing organizational complexity.
• Ensure consistent implementation of SOPs, compliance standards, and performance metrics across all divisions.

Field Operations & Service Delivery Oversight

• Lead and supervise Field Security Managers, Safety Managers, and operational supervisors, ensuring strong leadership and effective field performance.
• Maintain high standards of service delivery, officer readiness, professionalism, and client satisfaction across all client sites.
• Implement audit systems, quality assurance mechanisms, and performance dashboards to ensure operational accuracy and consistency.

Client Management & Partnership Excellence

• Serve as the executive-level operational liaison to major clients, including school districts, property management groups, municipalities, and corporate partners.
• Oversee client onboarding, contract implementation, service transitions, and operational performance reviews.
• Develop and sustain high-value relationships that support client retention, service expansion, and long-term partnership growth.

Strategic Planning & Organizational Growth

• Partner with the CEO to develop and execute the company’s multi-year strategic plan, including operational goals, resource allocation, and organizational scaling.
• Lead operational components of new business development, service-line expansion, and large-scale contract mobilization.
• Provide executive-level insight into budgeting, forecasting, productivity, and operational risk mitigation.

Leadership Development & Organizational Culture

• Build a high-performing operations leadership team through structured coaching, succession planning, and professional development strategies.
• Promote a performance-driven culture grounded in discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Strengthen cross-departmental communication and alignment to ensure cohesive and efficient organizational operations.

Risk Management, Compliance & Incident Oversight

• Ensure compliance with state and local regulations governing public safety, security operations, and workforce standards.
• Oversee executive reviews of major incidents, internal investigations, and corrective action plans.
• Develop and enforce agency-wide risk mitigation strategies, documentation protocols, and safety standards.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 7 years progressive leadership in security, public safety, operations, or related sectors.
• Minimum 3 years in a senior or executive operational leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-site operations and large, distributed teams.
• Proven ability to build systems, drive organizational performance, and lead in high-growth environments.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Background in security operations, emergency services, facilities management, or school safety.
• Experience designing operational structures for rapidly expanding service organizations.

Working Conditions

• Executive-level schedule with flexibility to support a 24/7 operational environment.
• Required travel to client locations, operational sites, and regional deployments.
• Participation in on-call rotation for escalated incidents or operational priorities.
