Location Notice:
Our retail operation will be relocating to our Corporate Office location in Seminole in the near future. This position will continue at the Seminole location, and team members should be comfortable working through this transition.
Job Description
As a Retail Store Associate, you will play a key role in delivering a positive in-store experience by assisting customers with fitness equipment selection, processing sales, and maintaining an organized retail space. This role also includes supporting warehouse operations as needed, including handling equipment, preparing orders, and assisting with inventory movement. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, dependable, and comfortable performing physical tasks related to fitness equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Greet and assist customers in a professional and approachable manner.
- Ask questions to understand customer goals, training style, space limitations, and equipment needs.
- Provide accurate product information and recommendations across our fitness equipment selection.
- Demonstrate product features and explain proper and safe equipment use.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle customer questions, concerns, and returns in a timely manner.
Store Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment.
- Stock shelves, arrange floor displays, and assist with merchandising.
- Collaborate with team members to support daily store operations and sales goals.
Warehouse & Equipment Support (As Needed)
- Assist with order picking, packing, and staging equipment for customer pickup or transfer.
- Load, unload, and move fitness equipment between the warehouse and retail floor.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and order pickers (training provided if needed).
- Support inventory organization and general warehouse upkeep.
- Perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy fitness equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful, especially in fitness or sporting goods.
- Interest in fitness and familiarity with gym equipment is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable working in both retail and warehouse environments.
- Ability to safely lift and move over 50 lbs. fitness equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Forklift or warehouse equipment experience.
- Basic math skills and comfort using POS systems.
- Availability to work Saturdays as needed.
Schedule & Work Location
- Part-time position, up to 20 hours per week
- In-person role
- Store hours: Monday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Schedule may vary during the relocation to the Seminole Corporate Office location
