What are the responsibilities and job description for the Onsite Community Association Manager; General Manager (CMCA, AMS) position at Valor Executive Search | North America?
A growing Arizona-based community association management company is seeking an experienced, dedicated Onsite Community Manager (General Manager) to be placed at a resort-caliber condominium community in North Scottsdale. This is a single-community, fully onsite leadership role — not a remote or portfolio position.
This role is built for a self-starter who operates equally well at the strategic and tactical level. You anticipate problems before they surface, build systems that bring order to complexity, and lead people with both high expectations and genuine care. If you are energized by innovation, ownership, and the challenge of running a high-amenity community at an exceptional standard — this opportunity was written for you.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN
─────────────────────────────
Operations, Facilities & Project Management
You will lead all day-to-day community operations with full accountability for outcomes. This includes hands-on facilities oversight — pools, spas, mechanical systems, clubhouse, and common area infrastructure. You will drive capital maintenance and special projects from scoping through completion, manage vendor relationships from bid to performance accountability, and build the operational processes that keep everything running with consistency and precision.
Resident Experience
You will deliver a white-glove, concierge-level experience across every resident interaction. A 24-hour response standard is the baseline — same-day resolution is the goal. You will help coordinate social events, lifestyle programming, and amenity operations while serving as the visible, trusted face of the community.
Staff Leadership
You will directly supervise and develop onsite concierge and maintenance personnel. You set expectations, provide coaching, and build a team culture that reflects the community's standards.
Technology & Innovation
You will leverage community management platforms, work order systems, and financial reporting tools with fluency and purpose. You actively identify where technology can improve communication, maintenance tracking, compliance workflows, and the resident experience. You champion adoption across the team and lead with a forward-thinking mindset.
Board & Governance Partnership
You will serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors — preparing board packets, agendas, management reports, and meeting minutes. You provide strategic input, long-range planning support, and honest operational analysis.
Financial Management
You will lead annual budget development, monitor monthly financials, prepare variance reports with clear narrative, and manage expenditures within Board-authorized thresholds. You understand the numbers and can speak to them with authority.
