Summary/Objective
The billing specialist is responsible for creating and processing invoices to clients by reviewing contracts, communicating with clients and the sales operations team, and working closely with other departments.
Essential Functions

Review contracts to determine appropriate coding and process invoices
Process and verify new orders, compare to quotes and prepare input and clarify any discrepancies with sales operations department and customer
Provide support to the team and assist with the collections process
Assist with monthly closing procedures, ensuring all approved and accurate sales order are invoiced by the last day of the month (may require additional hours) and preparation of year-end audits
Work closely with other departments internally; build and maintain good customer relationships
Initiate and help with process improvements
Maintains the confidentiality of all financial matters exposed to during the course of performing job duties
Required to create a relationship with each client's AP department
Updating invoices to client platforms
Other duties and special projects may be assigned as needed
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week.

Education and Experience
- B.S. or B.A. degree in accounting or related field preferred but not required
- 2-3 years of accounting experience preferred but not required
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Intermediate-Advance in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Customer service skills (oral and written) in billing matters. Independent discretion and judgment.
