Duties
- Conduct thorough intakes and diagnostic assessments for first responders experiencing stress, trauma, or mental health concerns.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-informed approaches. EMDR is a plus!!
- Implement crisis management strategies and intervene effectively during acute mental health emergencies or behavioral crises.
- Offer specialized support including PTSD care, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and behavior management tailored to the needs of emergency personnel.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, medical records, and detailed case notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ICD coding standards (ICD-9/ICD-10).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans and coordinate case management efforts.

- Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure a MUST.
- Proven experience in behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, or clinical therapy within hospital or outpatient settings.
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is highly desirable.
- Experience working with first responders or emergency personnel is a plus; training in addiction counseling, grief therapy, or psychopharmacology is beneficial.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Skilled in applying therapeutic techniques including motivational interviewing, applied behavior analysis, social work principles, and group therapy facilitation.
