About Us: Valor Classical Christian School is located in the Fox Cities, a beautiful region in east central Wisconsin. We are a new, tightly knit, classical Christian school committed to nurturing students through the use of classical liberal arts.
Job Description: The 5th and 6th Grade Classroom Teacher will be responsible for planning, instructing, and managing a classroom of students in alignment with our classical Christian educational model. Teachers are expected to develop students academically, spiritually, and morally, adhering to the classical method of instruction, which emphasizes critical thinking, logic, and a love of learning. As an integral member of our faculty, the teacher will contribute to a strong community culture and provide students with a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Applicants should have a vibrant Christian testimony demonstrating a relationship with Jesus Christ and should fully support the school’s Statement of Faith. Candidates should also hold an abiding passion for and academic strength in their field, demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning, and a love for children. The ideal applicant understands and is excited about the great tradition of classical Christian education.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction: Deliver daily lessons in a manner that promotes deep learning and critical thinking, following a classical Christian curriculum.
Curriculum Implementation: Develop and execute lesson plans that are both challenging and engaging, drawing upon classical methods of instruction, including Socratic questioning, memorization, and interdisciplinary teaching.
Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive, orderly classroom environment that reflects the values of the school and supports the academic and spiritual growth of students.
Spiritual Formation: Encourage spiritual growth by modeling Christian values, integrating faith into lessons, and providing opportunities for prayer, Scripture reading, and discipleship.
Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate student progress through regular assessments, providing constructive feedback to students and parents in a timely manner.
Collaboration: Work closely with other faculty members, administrators, and parents to support students’ academic and personal development.
Professional Development: Commit to ongoing professional development to grow in teaching skills, theological knowledge, and personal faith.
Qualifications:
- A strong commitment to the mission and values of classical Christian education.
- A Bachelor’s degree in education, a relevant subject area, or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.
- An understanding of and commitment to the classical Christian curriculum and pedagogy.
- A mature and growing Christian faith, with a clear commitment to modeling biblical principles in the classroom.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Ability to engage and inspire students of varying academic levels.
Additional Requirements:
- A background check and adherence to child protection policies are required for employment.
- Membership in a local Christian church.
