About The Role
As Senior Manager, Learning & Development, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for learning initiatives that support all mortgage servicing departments. This role is responsible for owning the end-to-end learning strategy while remaining actively engaged in content creation, facilitation, and execution.
You will lead and develop a team of trainers while personally setting the bar for training quality, consistency, and effectiveness. This role will build upon the foundation established by the previous leader, bringing stronger strategic direction, scalable content development, and elevated leadership rigor to Valon’s learning programs.
The Senior Manager will oversee New Hire Orientation, Manager and Leadership training, and ongoing compliance and role-based training for individual contributors. Success in this role requires the ability to operate at both a high strategic level and a hands-on, day-to-day level in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities
Learning Strategy & Ownership
- Own the Valon Mortgage Servicing learning strategy, aligning programs with business goals, regulatory requirements, and operational priorities.
- Partner with leaders across CX, Operations, Compliance, and Legal to identify skill gaps and learning needs.
- Build and scale effective learning programs with clear success metrics.
- Design and evolve training for new hires, role-based learning, leadership development, and compliance.
- Develop and review high-quality training materials and assessments.
- Facilitate engaging virtual and in-person training, including New Hire Orientation and manager programs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of trainers and learning professionals.
- Set priorities and balance near-term training needs with long-term program development.
- Implement assessments and certifications to validate readiness and compliance.
- Analyze training outcomes and incorporate feedback to improve effectiveness.
- Partner with Compliance and Legal to keep training content current and audit-ready.
- Oversee training on mortgage servicing systems and internal tools.
- Leverage learning platforms to deliver scalable learning experiences.
- Track required training hours for each associate, which will include a combination of regulatory and operational training
- Deep expertise in mortgage servicing operations and terminology.
- Proven experience designing and scaling training programs in call center or servicing environments.
- Strong instructional design and content development background.
- Experience leading trainers and developing managers and frontline leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
- 5 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, training, or enablement, including leadership experience.
- Experience operating in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail.
- Experience with learning platforms such as Lessonly, Classroom, and Google Meet.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and facilitation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and confident, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Availability to collaborate and participate in regularly held in-person meetings.
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
