Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate an overhead crane using a box controller in a safe, secure, and productive manner
• Move product through a chemical cleaning process along a grated catwalk
• Inspect rigging before placing product into system
• Check for damage or defect of product during process including chains and wires
• Make recommendations to resolve any damage or defects found in products
• Inspect for proper vent/drain
• Inspect for proper pickling
• Add chemicals as required
• Assist Riggers as needed and fill in during staggered breaks/lunches (back Pickler)
• Learn kettle and dip process and fill in during staggered breaks/lunches (front Pickler)
• Place product in kettle
• Complete any required paperwork
• Establish priorities and reorder priorities when necessary
• Maintain a safe and productive working environment by wearing required personal protective equipment and following facility safety regulations at all times
• Follow all required processes, procedures and regulations

• Calculate simple mathematics and accurately read a tape measure

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating an overhead crane
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience working with chemicals preferred
• Experience working with a dipping or cleaning process preferred

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs,
• Able stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, stoop, climb, push, pull, reach, grasp, hold and carry for various periods of time.
• Able to wear required PPE at all times: Hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, reflective vest, long sleeves, long pants, steel toed boots with built in met guards, face shield, chemical apron and other PPE requirements as needed.
  
  

Job Summary

Move product through the chemical cleaning process using an overhead crane safely in a fast-paced industrial environment. Inspection of material for vent/drain, inspection of chains/wires and inspection of proper pickling are required. Fill in for rigging or kettle during staggered breaks/lunches. Must follow all processes, procedures and regulations and maintain the highest of standards including no damage to product and/or equipment. Must wear PPE at all times, arrive on time, work the required schedule each week and report any damage or issues to the department supervisor immediately. Must be aware of surroundings at all times including coworkers, especially while in movement.
