- Control movement of materials to work and stations or to storage areas based on requirements supplied by the Supervisor or others.
- Check incoming raw material against the supplier paperwork as it is unloaded
- Check material for markings
- Check BOL, Certified Mill Test reports and match to PO
- Note discrepancies on the physical receipt of material on the BOL
- Receive and unload materials. Catalog and mark materials to insure proper storage.
- Enter data and complete required reports.
- Maintain paperwork on arriving materials and distribute to the appropriate person.
- Assemble kits per manufacturing requirements in advance of the production schedule
- Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time product without errors.
- Use various types of material handling equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes to unload and move materials.
- Complete TPM inspection of the forklift and cranes in-use and rigging equipment on a daily basis.
- Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management.
- Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years’ experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is desired
- Knowledge of various receiving and inventory storage procedures
- Basic computer knowledge
- Able to learn and work according to Valmont’s environmental policies
- Prior forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
- An understanding of job-related programs
- Knowledge of Valmont’s quality procedures, standards, and practices
- Experience with IFS software systems
- Ability to work independently on tasks to meet deadlines
- Able to analyze situations to resolve problems
- Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
