MEP Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical systems for building projects (power, lighting, ELV, fire alarm, earthing, etc.).
• Perform electrical load calculations, prepare single-line diagrams, and produce detailed design drawings.
• Ensure compliance with international and local codes (NEC, IEC, BS, etc.).
• Coordinate with MEP, architectural, and structural teams to integrate design solutions.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and respond to RFIs.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical support during construction stages.
• Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and design documentation.
• Participate in value engineering and optimization studies.
• Support tender evaluations and provide technical clarifications.
• Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable design practices.
• Stay updated with new electrical design technologies and smart building systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 4–8 years of experience in MEP electrical design for building services.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux, ETAP, or equivalent software.
• Solid understanding of electrical standards and codes (NEC, IEC, BS, local).
• Excellent communication and coordination skills in a remote team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• LEED, PMP, or local authority certifications (DEWA, ADDC, etc.).
• Experience with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Membership in professional engineering organizations (e.g., IEEE, IET)
