Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Solar O&M Field Technician to join our Operations & Maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting commercial or utility-scale solar PV systems. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety of field-deployed solar assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems (commercial or utility-scale).
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair system faults, including inverters, modules, combiner boxes, and electrical components.
- Conduct system inspections, testing, and performance analysis using diagnostic tools and software.
- Perform IV curve tracing, thermography, and other advanced testing techniques.
- Complete and submit detailed service reports, logs, and documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with company safety standards and industry regulations.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and contractors as needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory for field operations.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in solar O&M, preferably on commercial or utility-scale systems.
- Strong understanding of PV systems, electrical schematics, and safety procedures.
- Experience with major inverter brands (e.g., SMA, Sungrow, ABB, etc.).
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and monitoring software.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field sites.
- Ability to work independently and in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NABCEP certification or equivalent is a plus.
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- Associate's degree or technical diploma in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy-related field.
- Experience with medium-voltage (MV) equipment and utility interconnection preferred
