Position Summary:
The O&M Field Technician will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar PV systems throughout the Plymouth, MA region. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with inverter systems, data acquisition, and electrical troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance and uptime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems (commercial and industrial scale).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to inverters, combiner boxes, data loggers, and monitoring systems.
- Conduct electrical testing, isolation fault detection, and performance verification using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Execute work orders, maintenance logs, and service reports accurately and timely.
- Coordinate with engineering and remote monitoring teams to resolve system performance issues.
- Perform system inspections, including thermal imaging, IV curve tracing, and safety checks.
- Support commissioning and startup activities for new installations when required.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to company and industry safety standards (OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E).
- Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for system improvements or recurring issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- 2–5 years of field experience in solar PV O&M, preferably in the C&I segment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with string, central, and hybrid inverter systems (e.g., SMA, Solectria, Sungrow, ABB, Fronius, or similar).
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems (DAS), monitoring portals, and communication networks (Modbus, TCP/IP).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region.
Preferred:
- NABCEP PV Associate or Technician Certification.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Experience with energy storage systems (ESS) or hybrid PV storage setups.
- Experience with SCADA or remote monitoring platforms.

Pay: $50.44 - $55.00 per hour
