What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Engineer position at Valleywise Health System?
Under the direction of the Supervisor Power Plant, this position performs Building Engineer and Power Plant activities associated with repair, maintenance, and associated documentation to maintain a safe and attractive hospital environment.
Hourly Pay Rate: $25.96 - $38.29
Job Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Specialized Training:
- Must have a certification for refrigerant recovery (EPA Universal Certification)
Certification/licensure:
- Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
- Must have a creativity, initiative and independent thinking, and problem-solving skills are strongly preferred.
- Must have working knowledge of fire protection codes, plumbing and other building systems codes, OSHA requirements, and knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures.
- Must have working knowledge preventative maintenance and work order software systems
- Great customer service and communication skills
- Must have willingness and aptitudes to work effectively with others within the formal or informal structure of teams or groups
- Must have inner motivation and confidence to achieve successful results
