At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, our Emergency Department is dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in fast-paced and critical situations. We’re seeking an experienced Director, Emergency Care Services to lead clinical operations, drive patient care excellence, and support strategic growth across Emergency Services.
What You’ll Do
- Provide operational and clinical leadership for Emergency Care Services
- Lead program development, staffing, quality initiatives, and daily department operations
- Partner with Nursing and executive leadership to advance strategic and operational goals
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and resource allocation
- Drive patient care outcomes, patient satisfaction, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with DNV, federal, state, and regulatory standards
- Lead recruitment, retention, recognition, and staff development initiatives
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, payroll processes, and productivity management
- Support emergency preparedness and hospital-wide disaster planning
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient flow and care delivery
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and patient-centered care
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience in Emergency Services or relevant acute care setting
- 3–5 years of leadership or management experience
- Strong operational, financial, and strategic leadership skills
- Knowledge of regulatory standards, patient safety, and performance improvement
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and team leadership abilities
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Requirements
- Current California RN license
- Bachelor’s degree required (BSN or healthcare-related field preferred)
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and AHA PALS certifications
- Ability to obtain LA City Fire Card within 30 days
- NIHSS and 2-hour Stroke Certification within 30 days of hire
- MOAB certification within 60 days of hire
Preferred
- Nursing Administration Certification or specialty certification
