Position Overview:
We are seeking an eager and adaptable entry-level line cook/kitchen utility worker to support the Kitchen Manager Thursday-Sunday in the Grill of our golf and country club. Typical hours will be 10 AM to 6 PM, and day to day responsibilities range from preparing ingredients to assembling common menu items like sandwiches, soups, and salads to dishwashing and waste disposal. This team member will be held responsible for ensuring food is prepared to the highest standards while adhering to health and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a passion for food, and a commitment to delivering consistently delicious dishes in a clean and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proper Food Safety Adherence:
Follow all food safety guidelines, including wearing gloves when handling food and maintaining proper storage of perishable items at appropriate temperatures.
Prevent cross-contamination through diligent handling, cleaning, and sanitation practices.
- Consistent Adherence to Recipes and Health Codes:
Working alongside the Kitchen Manager, preparing dishes according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
Adhere to health code standards regarding food handling, cooking temperatures, and sanitation practices.
- Cleaning and Sanitation:
Maintain a clean and safe working environment by regularly cleaning and sanitizing all equipment, work surfaces, and utensils.
Follow established cleaning schedules and practices to comply with health regulations.
- Proper Labeling of Food:
- Label food items with essential information (name, date of preparation, expiration date) for proper rotation and to ensure freshness and quality.
- Adherence to Hours of Operation:
- Arrive on time for scheduled operating hours and adhere to specified duties noted by the Kitchen Manager.
- Menu Consistency:
Curate, prepare, and present dishes in line with the Kitchen Manager's specifications.
Ensure consistency in taste, appearance, and portion sizes to meet guest expectations.
- Timely Food Storage:
- Promptly store prepared food items in designated areas while following proper guidelines to ensure quality and safety.
- Cleaning:
- Regularly wash and clean kitchen equipment and dishes (manual dishwasher while restaurant is under renovation)
- Professional Appearance and Conduct:
Wear uniform and apron to maintain cleanliness and adhere to food service guidelines.
Foster a positive and respectful work environment by treating colleagues and guests with professionalism and courtesy.
Qualifications:
Proven kitchen experience.
Eager to learn new skills and adapt while restaurant is under renovation.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper cooking techniques.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow recipes and health code standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work in hot and noisy kitchen conditions.
Part-Time Compensation: $15-18/hour (based upon skills and experience); average of 25-30 hours; hours may change based on various factors, such as increase in the busy season or decrease in slower times; hours may be affected by construction limitations during the renovation period
