Camp Maintenance Staff

Position: Camp Maintenance Staff (Seasonal & On-call) ($10.50/hr - $15/hr)

Location: Camp Fowler, Orefield, PA

Essential Functions of the Camp Maintenance Staff:

• Activities course and general camp maintenance
• Event set-up/break-down/clean-up
• Camp clean-up, daily pick-up of loose trash on the grounds
• Sweeping and power-washing of cabins, pavilion, shower house, deck, and under the deck of Trexler Hall
• Trail clearing and maintenance
• Weekly dumpster clean out and hose down
• Trash/recycling duties
• Kitchen cleaning
• Lawn Maintenance which includes mowing and weed removal
• Sanding/painting/staining
• Parking duties
• Various large projects such as the organization of sheds and Camp areas as needed
• Positive interaction with campers and their families

Minimal Qualifications for the Camp Maintenance Staff:

• Applicant minimum age 16 yrs.
• Reliable transportation

Physical Requirements for the Camp Maintenance Staff:

• Capacity to work long hours in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain, while maintaining energy and enthusiasm. X Constant
• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Occasionally
• Walking, hiking, and movement across the camp's 43-acre property, which includes uneven terrain, wooded areas, and hills, multiple times a day. X Constant
• Willingness and ability to participate in and demonstrate camp activities, such as hiking, swimming, team-building exercises, and other outdoor activities. X Constant
• Capacity to perform basic first aid and CPR, including kneeling, bending, and other physical movements required in emergency situations. X Constantly
• Ability to navigate stairs. X Constantly
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds, which may include supplies, equipment, or assisting with setting up activities. X Constantly
