What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapist position at VALLEY VISTA?
Our primary therapists individualize treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances.
They meet with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as
necessary. They will conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress. This person will participate in
change-of-shift treatment team meetings and discusses patients' emotional/behavioral issues/concern,
and related programming needs.
- Provides comprehensive clinical assessments of patients
- Participates in the development of a patient treatment plan based on clinical assessment and referent recommendations and/or concerns
- Counsels patients in gender-specific sessions and/or individually
- Provides group and individual counseling as appropriate to patient concerns
- Completes patient care documentation as required by Valley Vista, State, and Federal regulatory bodies
- Participates in team meetings, staff development, and supervision opportunities as determined by the Program Director
- Is available to colleagues on the unit and elsewhere in facility to consult around special mental health needs and services for patients
- Completes the discharge and aftercare functions of the master treatment plan
- Provides collaborative treatment planning with outside providers to ensure continuity of care, including housing as needed
- Functions as a member of behavioral/psychiatric team as assigned
- Provides Program Orientation to each patient assigned to care, including nature and goals of the program at Valley Vista
- Works with treatment team and Program Director to identify need for specialized patient services, and facilitates access to such
- Provides patient advocacy as needed with inpatient treatment team as well as community resources
- Functions as unit coordinator as assigned, including overseeing safety issues on unit in emergency drills or situations
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university; or on to two years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MSW, LADC, and/or LMHC preferred.

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
