Duties and Responsibilities

- Obtains a comprehensive nursing assessment of the patient at admission
- Medicates for withdrawal symptoms, based on physicians’ orders and in compliance with organization policy.
- Initiates nursing process by planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing case based on clinical knowledge, patient needs, and data collection
- Assists medical staff as necessary and appropriate
- Collects specimens from patients as appropriate
- Documents nursing care provided including interventions and plans in patient record as required
- Maintains close communication with clinical staff regarding any medical information that may impact patient treatment plan
- Performs mental status evaluation to determine the need for further psych evaluation. May administer BDI and/or HS Can work as a member of the Valley Vista team
- Supervises LPNs and LNAs in the Nursing and Detox Program
- Trains new employees, and plans, assigns, and directors work
Qualifications Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two yeas related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must hold a current valid license to practice in the State of Vermont.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 1-year experience in a chemical dependency facility or related and 2-3 years related experience preferred, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Salary : $35 - $45
