Duties
- Assist with food production and meal preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Serve meals to residents or patients with friendly customer service, ensuring their dietary preferences and needs are met
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing utensils, and cleaning food prep surfaces to uphold sanitation standards
- Buss tables and clear dining areas promptly after meals to prepare for the next service
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and prevent contamination during food service and storage
- Support the dietary department by organizing supplies, stocking stations, and assisting with inventory management
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and sanitation protocols to promote a healthy environment for residents and staff
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or food industry settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and meal service procedures is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to efficiently complete tasks during busy meal times
- Ability to perform light cooking and food preparation tasks safely and accurately
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward residents and team members
- Experience in dietary aide roles or kitchen work is a plus; familiarity with dietetics or culinary experience is beneficial
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
