Position Overview:
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment within the feed mill production and storage areas. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and supports product quality by preventing contamination and maintaining equipment cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of feed mill equipment, production floors, storage areas, and other facility spaces.
- Clean mixers, conveyors, pellet mills, grain bins, and other machinery following established protocols.
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and sanitation schedules.
- Inspect cleaned areas and equipment to verify cleanliness and compliance with quality standards.
- Report any equipment damage, safety hazards, or maintenance needs observed during cleaning.
- Assist with pest control efforts by maintaining cleanliness and reporting signs of infestation.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and chemical usage.
- Comply with all safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with production, quality control, and maintenance teams to support operational goals.
- Participate in sanitation inspections as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a cleaning or sanitation environment is a plus.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and sanitation procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to sanitation standards.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with regulations.
- Willingness to work shifts, including early mornings or weekends if necessary.
Working Conditions
