What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Valley Veterinary Clinic?
We are a one doctor practice looking for a veterinary technician to join our team. We are a small animal clinic working with dogs and cats. LVT licensure is welcome but not required. Looking for someone with at least 1-2 years of experience as you will be the only technician working with the vet.
Duties would include surgical and anesthetic prep and monitoring, placing IV catheters, drawing blood, using in house lab equipment (we have Idexx machines), assisting with radiographs, getting medications ready, client education and communication, excellent animal care, and light cleaning. Some practice management duties would include inventory and ordering, paying bills, and communication with vendors.
No weekends, holidays, or after-hours work. Schedule is somewhat flexible with Fridays off if desired. Our clinic hours are 8-4 Mon-Thurs and 8-1 Fridays. We don't take a lunch break but do a "working lunch" instead so we can get done by 4pm but an unpaid lunch would be available if needed. Pay is flexible based on experience and other benefits include payed time off and discounts for personal pets.
