Duties
- Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines, menus, and safety standards
- Assist with food production, including cooking, portioning, and plating dishes efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through regular sanitation, cleaning, and bussing
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols
- Support the dietary department by assisting with meal delivery, setup, and table service for residents
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner to meet scheduled meal times
- Follow all safety regulations related to food service, sanitation, and kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy meal periods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Experience working in dietary or food service roles within healthcare environments is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation
- Customer service orientation with a caring attitude toward residents’ needs
